  • Girl with butterfly on palmAre we a licensed child care facility? Yes, Discovery Station Learning Center is licensed by the State of Virginia Department of Social Services prior to opening. We strive to meet and often exceed the minimal requirements that the state mandates.
  • What does the tuition include? Tuition includes first class care and supervision of your child, materials, supplies, meals and snacks, as well as diapers, diaper cream and wipes (up to age 2).
  • Do you charge a supply fee? No, Supply Fees are included in weekly tuition.
  • What forms of payment do you accept? Discovery Station accepts checks, money orders, and all major credit cards.  We offer automated weekly payments though the Tuition Express system.
  • What hours are you open? Our operating hours are 6:30am – 6:30pm.
  • How do I find out about inclement weather closing? You can always check our website. If there is a closing or delay, a ticker will flash across the screen; we also will send out an email blast to all parents who have requested to be included.  Discovery Station will also listed on WTOP's website.
  • Woman feeding baby in highchairWhich holidays do you close for? We are closed for the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (early closing) and Christmas Day.
  • What happens if I pick my child up after 6:30pm? Discovery Station has a $20.00 fee that is charged at 6:31pm. After 6:45pm, the Late Pick Up Fee increases $1 per minute. Payment will be expected with or before the following week’s tuition.
  • If my child is sick how long can they stay in the Wellness Room for? Children can stay in the wellness room for up to two hours. Parents are still required to pick up sick children. Our Wellness room enables sick children to rest and relax comfortably while quarantining any contagious germs, however the best place for a sick child is at home in their own bed.
